April serves as the coordinator for our Mother’s Morning Out preschool program. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Queens University in Charlotte, NC where she was born and raised until moving to Columbia seventeen years ago with her husband, Michael and their children. She taught fifth grade for five years and served in special education classrooms for 9 years as well as teaching in our one-year-old class here at NEPC for three years before becoming the director. She loves playing sports of all kinds including tennis, basketball, softball and pickleball and being a spectator as well. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband, five children and grandson at the zoo, beach, state parks or just lounging around at home all together. She also enjoys spending time with her NEPC church family when the opportunity arises.
