Mission cost estimate: $1,000 not including air fare (estimated at $800) – This pays for just about everything in Costa Rica: hotel (double occupancy), meals, bottled water, ground transportation, driver and fuel, translators, local churches that help us, VBS supplies, Home Outreach supplies, Bibles and tracts, etc.

Make all checks to NEPC but give them to Manny Rodriguez – You can solicit donations from your friends and relatives to help you with the costs. Mail checks to: Manny Rodriguez, 601 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223 phone 803-451-4605.

Passport: You absolutely must have a valid passport to travel to Costa Rica.  The expiration date MUST be later than December 20, 2020.

Minors: Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Airfare:  The cost of airfare is estimated at about $800. Each person is responsible to buy his/her  tickets for a non-stop flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. The plan is for the team to travel on the same flight so that, upon arrival, we can get through customs and travel to our hotel together. Let Manny Rodriguez know once you have purchased your tickets.

Mission Statement:  This is first and foremost an evangelical mission.  We are working with local pastors to attract people in their communities to come and experience Christian love in action and to hear the good news of the gospel. We want to encourage the pastors and believers, and to help the local church bring more souls into the Kingdom, helping the local church grow as they demonstrate the love of Christ.  We want to spread the word to all who will come, “Jesus te ama” (Jesus loves you).  Our second goal is to bring American Christians to a different environment, outside of their comfort zone, away from the distractions of everyday life, compelled to be dependent on God, and to bond with other Christians as they serve the Costa Rican people. We trust that our team will return strengthened spiritually, and perhaps become more deliberate in their walk with God and their service to His church here and abroad.

Team Preparation: Team sessions will prepare team members for the mission objectives. The goals are to establish team cohesion, provide encouragement, and determine ministry assignments. The sessions will consist of evangelistic training, learning cultural/language barriers, and preparing a 1-2 minute personal testimony.
