(One important note: Susan’s books have sold out every time we have done a signing for her, so don’t miss this opportunity to get one autographed for yourself or a friend. Did you know that NEPC has a wonderful library for adults and children right in the heart of our campus?  It’s called The Lamppost and we’re located right inside the Atrium! We’re open every time the church doors are open and look forward to serving your reading, viewing, or listening needs.

OUR PURPOSE

Our PURPOSE: is to complement, assist and strengthen our various other ministries at NEPC and you in your walk with Christ by providing quality books, resources, and programs.

OUR GOAL

Our GOAL: is to enable and encourage each of you in the body of Christ to grow in your knowledge and application of Scripture, to deepen your understanding of the Christian life, and to enjoy wholesome recreational reading, all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

OUR DESIRE

Our DESIRE: is that the Lamppost will be a place where you will enjoy encouraging fellowship and easy access to enriching books, CD’s, DVD’s, and audio books.

ADULTS

A full selection of reading materials fills our shelves. Books and audio books, CDs, DVDs, DVD and CD courses in genres in fiction and nonfiction are represented and may be checked out on a wide variety of subjects from marriage and family, apologetics, biblical commentaries and Christian living to historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, and fantasy. Magazines including World and Christianity Today can be found on our shelves for at-church reading enjoyment.

CHILDREN

Our children have their own special area, called the Children’s Wardrobe, located in a corner of the Atrium. These younger readers enter through a wardrobe into the make-believe world of C.S. Lewis ’Narnia. Inspired by Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia novels, walking into the wardrobe takes our younger readers into the Narnian atmosphere, complete with replicas of scenes from the Narnia tales on the walls, a majestic mahogany throne, a gleaming brass lamppost. The best of children’s literature fills the bookshelves along with a wide array of children’s nonfiction resources. We also offer a variety of family-friendly DVDs that will make Family Movie Night extra special!

SPECIAL EVENTS

Throughout the year, various special events are planned, including AUTHOR AUTOGRAPHINGS, ANNUAL MEMBERS’ BOOK SALE, our very popular CHURCH FAMILY MOVIE NIGHTS and CHILDRENS’ SUMMER READING CLUB, and BOOK GIVEAWAY programs.
