“Always read something great that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.”
~ P.J. O’Rourke ~

Ha ha ha ha ha! It’s a good thing that I am reading something great! (Something in addition to my Bible, of course!)

And it’s also a good thing that your Lamppost ONLY stocks “great somethings” on our shelves, so you never have to worry. No (Word of the Week) BUBKES here in any of our inventory!

And while on the subject, the something great that I am currently reading is The Life of our Lord by Charles Dickens. It’s best described as “a children’s New Testament” Dickens wrote for his own children during the years of 1846 to 1849.

Listen to the opening sentences: “My Dear Children, I am very anxious that you should know something about the History of Jesus Christ. For everybody ought to know about Him. No one ever lived who was so good, so kind, so gentle, and so sorry for all people who did wrong, or were in any way ill or miserable, as He was.”

You’ll find it and some other wonderful somethings in our FEATURED BOOKS section…the shelves right in front of the Grand Hall.

In our Children’s Wardrobe, we are highlighting some WINTER favorites; look around inside the Wardrobe and outside the Wardrobe underneath our Music and DVD sections!

Speaking of DVDs, it’s time for another CHURCH FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT, so mark your calendars for FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24th! Movie title and other specifics coming in next week’s midweek update! It’ll be a fabulous time, as always!

We light up your world with reading as we light your way to HIM….JESUS. We’re your Lamppost. Come “check us out” this week!
