What a fun night we had last Friday night at Church Family Movie Night with NEPC families and friends sitting together and enjoying each other and a super cute movie, “Sing!” Thanks to all who came out to enjoy their Friday night with us.

Now onto other business of Lamppost note!

My theme for this fall comes from St. Augustine of Hippo:

(Words of the Week) TOLLE, LEGE!

To that end, check out some of our newer arrivals as well as some oldies but goodies, including for our ladies, Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both Our Hearts AND Our Minds by Jen Wilkin; and for our adults Surprised by Suffering: the Role of Pain and Death in the Christian Life by R.C. Sproul (one of this librarian’s favorite authors). You’ll find these and many more on our FEATURED BOOK SHELVES in front of the Atrium and scattered throughout the Atrium.

For the kids, two classics: Pinky Pye and Ginger Pye, both by Newbery award-winner Eleanor Estes, and The Prince Warriors, book 1 in the series of the same name by Priscilla Shirer. They are located inside the Children’s Wardrobe (in the JUVENILE section) as well as outside the Wardrobe on the shelves underneath the Music CDs.

While on the subject of children, please keep in mind that CURRENTLY THE LAMPPOST IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY DONATIONS, EXCEPT FOR HARDCOVER CHILDREN’S FICTION AND NONFICTION. Your librarian and her trusty aide-de-camp are busily preparing for our big BOOK SALE. I will give the all-clear when we begin accepting other items again. Thank you for your assistance.

We are your Lamppost… lighting up your world with reading in an effort to light your way to HIM… LORD JESUS! Stop by and “check us out” next time you’re at church.

And TOLLE, LEGE!
