June 20 – Day 3
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:10-20
The last hug, maybe the last look, that last wave goodbye. Each of them is important, when you are leaving someone you love. But the last word, that message, is precious. You try to make is memorable, but most of all you want your last one to count! In Matthew 19-20 Jesus’s last earthly message to his disciples was to GO, go out and teach and train the Gospel. While Jesus still leads and guides us, this is the message he wants his disciples to remember as his parting command. GO MAKE DISCIPLES. As we teach the children this week, let’s remember that not only are we making disciples of them, but we have the authority and promise that Jesus is with us, always, even to the end of age. We can feel confident that our teachings to the children are what we have been called to do.
The instructions for our command is clear. Making disciples means getting involved with people of all kinds and ages. Who are you going to hang with this week? Who that you serve, will see how Jesus changed your life? Whose heart will you fill with the love of Jesus and His promise?
Dear Lord, I pray for the families and children who will be a part of VBS this week. I pray that I my life will reflect Your grace and Your love. I pray that You will guide me as I may touch someone’s life with Your words of love and salvation as I follow Your command. I rest in Your promises that you will with me always. Amen
