June 21 – Day 4

“May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.” Psalm 104:31-33

In Genesis 1:31, the Bible tells us that God saw all that He had made and it as “very good.”  God’s glory is always and forever very good.  What people do is sometimes good and sometimes not and it is definitely not forever.  What people do changes and falls apart.  But not the glory of God.  God rejoices in His works and so can you and I!

God has total control over the earth.  One look or thought from God causes earthquakes or volcanoes or rainbows or beautiful sunrises and sunsets.  God’s control is through all time.  No matter what people are doing, God is ultimately in control and that means we can always praise Him and worship Him.  As long as we are living, we can praise God because He will NEVER, at any day or moment, not be worthy of our praise.

On days when things aren’t going my way or I’m sad or angry, can I look for things to praise God for?  Can I see ways that He is in control and thank Him for that?

Lord, help me always be aware of your control.  Help me each day see how wonderful you are and to feel secure you are in charge of the world.  Amen
