I am often asked what my reading list looks like, and I most likely respond that it’s a rather eclectic assortment!
Currently, on my nightstand, along with my Bible, are a historical fiction novel (for my book club), several devotional books, a young adult fiction chapter book, a young adult nonfiction book on parenting, and a mountain of juvenile picture books.
And while YOUR reading list may look nothing like this librarian’s, you can start or build your own right here at our wonderful Lamppost!
So, as “winter” (I use the term rather loosely this year) continues, I invite you to (Word of the Week) PERAMBULATE through our library, and see what floats your literary boat!
We are getting more picture books in for our younger readers and are continuing to celebrate the coldest time of our year as well as give a nod to Punxsutawney Phil, who will make his appearance tomorrow and entertain us with his annual weather prognostication.
And now that February is here, for our adults, we celebrate with books on love… all kinds of love… romantic, friendship, familial, and of course, Agape love from our Heavenly Father.
Check our FEATURED BOOK shelves for some good choices in fiction and nonfiction, including Love Has A Price Tag (by my fave, Elisabeth Elliot); How to Really Love Your Teenager by Ross Campbell; Where Love Is, There God Is Also by Leo Tolstoy; and the Love Comes Softly fiction series by Janette Oke.
Something else to love is our CHURCH FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT… coming FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24th, so mark your calendars and plan to be with us at 6 p.m. for a FREE showing of “The Secret Life of Pets”… a night of fun for the whole family.
We love reading… we love each other… but mostly we love HIM, the Greatest Lover of all… and we celebrate all at your Lamppost. Come “check us out” next time you’re at church.
