I am so grateful for the literate congregation here at Northeast… you folks REALLY read books, I’ll tell ya!

Something else I’m grateful for is the Christian community of events here in our capital city… from faith-based movies that are coming out more frequently to concerts and other church-related events.

In that vein, I have a very wonderful event to pass along to my reading and music-loving friends: on SUNDAY NIGHT, MARCH 19, our sister church, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, proudly presents AN EVENING OF STORIES AND SONGS with ELLIE HOLCOMB and SALLY LLOYD-JONES! (AMY GRANT is also on this tour!)

An Evening of Stories and Songs

Many music lovers are familiar with Ellie Holcomb’s music and those of us who love to read know Sally Lloyd-Jones’ work, among them The Jesus Storybook Bible, Little One We Knew You’d Come, and Song of the Stars: a Christmas Story.

The fun starts at 7 p.m. and features singing by Ellie interspersed with stories by Sally and will be a spectacular evening, so I invite you to get your tickets now! They will sell out quickly! (Your librarian hopes to be on the front row!)

In other news, our Childrens’ Wardrobe is all (Word of the Week) BEDIZENED for spring… take a peek next time you’re at church! We continue to celebrate Dr. Seuss and look ahead to Easter with many titles on our church’s holiest time of the year.

We are your Lamppost… we light up your world with reading in an effort to light your way to HIM… our Risen Lord and Savior… JESUS CHRIST! Come “check us out” this week!
